Some days it creeps along. Other days you can’t believe its already almost the end of February. Where does it go and why is it in such a hurry sometimes? To be honest, sometimes I don’t even think about it.
And then, one day, your loving husband ask to view some portraits your created of a certain Lumpy Pup four years ago. So you dig through your old college files and pull them up. And time hits you like a ton of bricks.
The image on the left is from January 2007. On the right is from January 2011. Almost 4 years apart to a T.
I know she’s getting older. I guess I just had never realized how much she’s changed. (You know, besides the lumps….) We knew there was more salt and pepper than before….just not how much. Her eyes are a little cloudier, her mustache a little more pronounced. Its amazing how fast things change.
But you know, at the same time, she still races around the house like a goof ball. We are coming up on our 6th year together next month – Daisy was 3 when she entered our lives and enriched them in ways I never dreamed possible. We never knew her as an actual puppy – but I still see her puppy self almost everyday. She’s a super dork. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Sometimes we don’t notice it until its too late. Today, even if for just a minute, take the time to love those who make you smile. Thank them for the amazingness they’ve brought to your life. Cherish those whom you hold dear.
I guess that’s a big part of why I love photography. Sometimes it nice to capture those amazing moments and cheat time for just a little while.
Happy Lump Day. Enjoy.
